Wii Strap Ons… there’s the Sports Pack” and the Combat Pack, and we’ve posted about them both (on com and .org)… well, its hard to tell what the quality, packaging, amusingly slightly altered logos (Wii or Wu?), materials, details, etc were like ~ so Jermacide bought them for our amusement… unboxing and close ups below.

They arrived extremely quickly from Hong Kong ~ real stamps, green paper, the works.

WU SPORTS! It cracks me up seeing the altered logo… sigh* Count how many copyrights are being violated?

For the sports set, you snap the controller in, and then attach the racket/club/bat of your choice. Impressive quality though ~ far sturdier and more weighted than i expected… esp the bat!

Close ups on how the attachment works ~ they slip together and then there is the slider lock.

Combat Pack ~ only the tips (the blade?) is foam, the handle is of the same heavier plastic used on the sport kit, as is the shield.

The shield resembles an iron a bit, but does feel great to hold. I must admit holding the sword and shield make me feel less like zelda, and more like a 5 year old having a wooden sword battle with my sister.

Bottom Line? Hilarious and good fun… certainly ads a whole new dimension to Wii play ~ and for $19 for each set, its a fun gift for sure.

I think that baseball bat attachment could be used for other things besides baseball games ;)

The main character in the Legend of Zelda series is actually named Link who wields the sword and shield to go save Zelda (usually).
