Noon Solar- 11.25.07

solarbag.jpgNoon Solar. Just in time for holiday wishlists… a line of solar bags that look great. I am currently debating whether to order the black Cortland Tote…. and they were smart enough to put the solar panel on one side so you can easily choose whether to face it outwards, or have it face your body and look like a sleek leather tote… well a tote with “entire exterior and interior constructed from Bavarian sourced, chrome-free, naturally tanned and dyed, full-grain cowhide leather and naturally dyed hemp cotton blend” to be precise. It looks like the perfect size for a 15” macbook pro… close ups below of the bags and the technology within… read more about the solar power and battery pack here. Also a great potential gift for the men in your life… their Logan Satchel in brown. Isn’t it about time someone put solar panels to aethetically appealing use? (Yes, i’m thinking of you, ugly solar backpacks.)

Close ups of the Cortland Tote.

Here is what the battery inside the bag looks like…

On a bright, sunny day the battery should be fully charged in 6-8 hours. On a cloudy day the battery will require a bit more time. The battery pack will hold the sun’s energy for several days.

Please select the correct output voltage on the side of the box. When you plug in the provided USB cable or iPod cable, the box will switch from power saver mode to work mode. Please unplug these cables when not charging your mobile phone or iPod in order to save power.
iPods

If you are charging an iPod, please plug in the iPod cable and then attach your iPod to the end. The iPod should show a charging indicator similar to the one shown while being charged from a wall socket.
Phones

If you are charging a mobile phone or other device, please select the correct USB adapter (see a list of provided phone model tips [PDF]) and plug it into the end of the USB cable. Plug the cable into the top of the Power Bank, then plug in your device. Your device should show a charging indicator similar to the one shown while being charged with a wall socket.
