Operation Window Seat: SGP-LON- 10.07.10

sgplon0.jpg Amazing Operation Window Seat pics from Justine and Charles just in! SO jealous i wasn’t there to see the view, it looks stunning! Honestly, this all makes me wonder if we have too much tech going on IN our planes sometime ~ there’s something about looking down at the teeny tiny world from this perspective that really makes you see life and existence in a whole new light… also the fractal nature of how incredible things look from afar and as you zoom in closer is just mind blowing ~ here’s what Justine has to say: “For the latest installment of Operation Window Seat, we bring you highlights of an incredible daytime flight from Singapore to London Heathrow. Here are a few shots from the journey which started by crossing the Bay of Bengal, offering views of stunning coastline and winding tributaries, and included passage over desert mountains in Afghanistan and Turkmenistan and incredible arrangements of fields across eastern Poland before finally bringing us home to London.” Really, really stunning landscapes, take a peek at the pictures on the next page!

These pics are fabulous. I took a couple on my way over Afghanistan once and they disappointed in comparison to these. It really opens up the world in ways nothing really compares to. I also remember when I flew from Nepal back to London, the views of the Himalayas was intense. We were right up there and beyond the mighty Mount Everest, yet it was close enough to traverse! And then just 9 hours later I was staring down as the rain fell overly generously onto Heathrow Terminal 5 (sob!).
