Apologies for going a little quiet the last few days ~ gave up internet for wine this weekend for the second annual #Time4Wine event in Napa, where a bunch of social media folks came together for good times and wine tasting at wineries with twitter presences… SO fun, so delicious, and yes, there may be a case in my car… and many silly pics went up at Life.NOTCOT.com where random cell phone pics and daily randomness with no home go. There was even a Salamanzar of Rose… yes 12 bottles worth! 9L! It’s HUGE! It also disappeared in no time. Additionally, got back into SF city, had a bit of a hotel disaster that i thought would explode my brain, and that lead in to a rather thrown off Monday… and now it’s Tuesday! Already! So here’s a roundup of some of the awesomeness that has been flowing through NOTCOT.org the last week. It's been a strange and sleepless night ~ nurturing my budding jetlag, readers happen to catch me on facebook messaging, letting me know that Mark Hoppus reads NOTCOT... which led to the discovery of his octopus toy in the making ~ some twittering ~ much giddiness... and a sleepless morning of octopus obsessions and noticing how many octopi have appeared on NOTCOT.org and NotCouture! Well it's 3:30am ~ time just keeps flying this week!!! Between the unpacking/settling into the new office/studio/house stuff, somehow boxing up and unpacking my life seems to have me reassessing the sites, and such as well ~ and we've also been crunching on an exciting surprise that should launch later this week... bottom line? And for our newest site ~ Liqurious that was launched in 2008 ~ it's had quite a fruitful year of delicious and beautiful drinks! While an idea that launched out of a less than fun learning experience over the late TasteSpotting (yes yes, for those who missed those few months, TasteSpotting died in 2008 just 1.5 years old ~ and we sold the domain name) ~ but happily, from that launched Liqurious!!! With which i think we've all learned a lot very quickly about the mysterious world of mixology! And to follow up on the last post about Lego's new Digital Boxes by Metaio ~ here's a roundup of Augmented Reality as collected up on NOTCOT.org! Most of these end up linking you to videos and picture where you can see augmented reality digital "pop up books" ~ and playful puppies who run to other card/markers that are water dishes, 3D graffiti painting in a warehouse, adorable monsters, xmas cards, and my favorite is the zoo ads you aim your cell phone at and see animals... So much potential with the technology, i'm super excited to see what people will come up with next to push the boundaries further!
