Ok, for context, it’s 75 degrees and super sunny here in LA as we get ready for the superbowl to start… but i’m checking the weather for NY later this week ~ and it looks like it’s COLD. and also possibly WET! It definitely feels a bit silly to be daydreaming about rain coats in this weather, but these by Terra New York seem intriguing ~ they use heavy TPU/ Urethane to provide structure to the 100% waterproof outerwear pieces using heat sealed technic for the seams… I’d love to see what these feel/smell like in person, but so far the designs look clean and fashion forward, which is no surprise considering “The founders Yurika Nakazono and Marie Saeki began with one simple question: What can a fashion-conscious woman wear when it’s raining?” ~ the look makes me think of paper wrapped chicken and manila envelopes ~ the simplicity pulls me in. So far there are three designs of raincoats, each available in nude and smokey grey, and three pouches to keep you and your goods dry! Take a peek at the current designs and details on the next page, and soon there may even be hats, bags, and shoes!

It’s as if my Moncler jacket got eaten by my Rimowa suitcase… and somehow fused into a strange luxurious chimera of sorts… It doesn’t look the most functional ~ yet i can’t stop staring. And wondering what else it would transform into if we fed it some other branded goodness… my Macbook Air perhaps? Or Louboutins?
Here’s how Moncler describes it on their site: Rimowa x Moncler Go On Holiday “Moncler is travelling - with the new Moncler Rimowa costumized suitcase. The German travel case producer completely reinterpreted its classic cabin trolley ‘Classic flight’. The result is a light and functional case, essential in its design, versatile in its usage possibilities. Ultraresistant, chrome-plated aircraft aluminium exterior including a brushed Moncler logo, padded handles and a special Moncler address tag.The Moncler trolley comes with typical padded black laqué interior including a unique set of soft accessories: shoe bag, laundry bag, utility bag and a small beauty case. Roomy, handy and compact. Perfect, in its dimensions, as air travel hand luggage and with two TSA combination locks. The world of Moncler in a trolley case.”
See more images of the new suitcase on the next page. The soft accessory bags are tempting…

Denham introduce the the winter edition of their torpedo crew and diving suit inspired Nautilus jacket. The men’s winter coat comes in Loden wool with heavy white ripstop canvas re-cut from vintage winter tarpaulins sourced from Dutch military surplus.
The new Denham Garment Library RECUT version, the Nautilus D.G.L., features stitched tape reinforcements and a removable cowl (modeled after a simple Royal Navy dress tunic), a style originating in naval flash gear, for which the hoods and shoulder pieces helped protect the heads, faces and shoulders of torpedo crews and is reminiscent of frogman diving suits with (the sort GI Joe used to wear).

So excited to announce this fun little easter egg hunt of sorts launching on NOTCOT.org and NotCouture today! We’ve teamed up with our friends at Bonobos to hide some of their models in their signature pants around the sites throughout the week… and if you find them, click them! The first 50 people to find the pants every day, get the $25 Bonobos credit plus free shipping both ways (min $50 purchase)! So happy hunting and shopping! Also, keep an eye out for the special little guy in paisley pants… he’ll give you a little something extra…
As for Bonobos, they are the online menswear store named after the endangered promiscuous great ape species that is a close relation of the chimpanzee… the one’s that started off a few years ago with the goal of giving men a pant option (the secret is in the curved waistline) that vowed to put an end to the saggy rear end that one-cut-fits-all options provide, and over the years it has evolved into a full fledged men’s store with everything from pants to suits and shirts to sweaters and shoes and even accessories. So whether you’re in need of a wardrobe update, or looking to get in on that holiday shopping early… go find the Bonobos models hiding on NOTCOT.org and NotCouture all week for the shopping codes!

This post is brought to you by Mercedes-Benz. Every day, we strive to fulfill one simple promise: the best or nothing. Visit MBUSA.com to learn more.
There’s something about the way Hard Graft always manages to craft their accessories that brings an air of elegance and rugged simplicity in balance. Their latest Driftwood and Campfire lines take travel to the next level with the Square1 Holdall, Dopp Kit, and Personal Pouch. Personally, i can’t take my eyes off the extremely versatile looking Square1 Holdall in Driftwood ~ though it does see a tad big for a girl my sized, the functionality of the shape as an overnight/weekender seems perfect. Crafted in Italy and made of premium suede and leather it transforms before your eyes from flat squarish holdall, to totebag, to backpack, to handheld and more… take a peek at all the details on the next page!

The Mutewatch is here! Well the first batch coming in to the US landed at A+R, and during Fashion’s Night Out, Andy had me over to do the honors of unboxing with him! I’m sure you’ve seen the video by now of this magical swedish watch that is MUTE ~ visually and audibly. A flick of the wrist or the slightest caress and it will show you the time. Swipe with the finger to start changing modes. Pinch to delete an alarm… an alarm which is ALSO mute ~ and will vibrate to wake you… Beautiful packaging, it will definitely make for a fun and unexpected gift! Take a peek at the details on the next page ~ and the video to catch you up on how it all works too!

Today i had a little adventure into the world of Levi’s. Wandering out into hollywood, i found myself immersed in Levi’s! Fascinating to see everything from the history of the 501 (from the original to the various evolutions of the years…) to the Curve ID jeans for women under a fantastic installation of bright yellow folding yard sticks ~ to the latest Commuter 511 collection (perfect for commuter cyclists with reflective seams when you fold the cuff up)… and even a peek at the edible garden installation by Silverlake Farms that was previously at MOCA! The adventures culminate in the dressing room, where after getting a feel for the collections, i slipped in to their Curve ID: Demis to find myself to be a perfect 27… take a peek at it all on the next page…

Apparently i have developed a soft spot for silk scarves with sketches/drawings on them (remember the Hermes Pegasus?) ~ the latest is the Porsche Design P’1820 Scarf. “The silk scarf shows Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s very first sketch of the so-called “exclusive spectacles” with its revolutionary lens replacement mechanism. The sunglasses and especially the sketch from 1977 have been Porsche Design’s first dedication to the world of fashion.” They are producing 200 of these internationally, and they will be available at the various Porsche Design stores at Fashion’s Night Out this Thursday! See close ups on the next page…

Leave it to GearPatrol to come hand deliver their Onia collaboration Amaury board shorts in a 2012 Nissan GT-R in a nearly matching blue (their shorts are far less sparkly than the car thankfully) ~ So what better way to unbox it ~ than to unbox them together… so we popped the hood of the car to see the beast within, opened up the zipper pouch the shorts come in… and even found that the coin pocket they specially lined for the collab is a PERFECT fit for your GT-R key! And to top it off, when you start the car up, she even announces that there is a “High surf warning around current location.” Exactly when you need board shorts! So we promptly hopped in the car and took off along the beach to Malibu for lunch… though it’s currently one of the fastest production cars to lap the Nürburgring… we sadly didn’t have a chance to really see what it could do. Keep an eye over at GearPatrol to see what they have been up to with it soon! But for now, take a look at the GP x Onia Board Shorts and my favorite details of the 2012 Nissan GT-R on the next page.
p.s.
After unboxing Louboutins on the Mars Red C63, it seemed appropriate to switch to blue and unbox the GP x Onia on the GT-R. What next?

Staying at a friend’s in Dogpatch, San Francisco ~ we wandered over to Serpentine for brunch today, and of course ended up next door at NOTCOT favorite, Triple Aught Design’s store/studio! In addition to checking out all their new wares, i love that they have made a morale patch for the area. “The origins of morale patches trace back to the fighter plane nose art of World War I. During the VIetnam War, units often created ironic, humorous morale patches.” This one is their homage to their Dogpatch location. Take a peek at both the Dogpatch patch, as well as the Ranger Eyes (mini, rubber, and glow in the dark) on the next page.

After quite the day running around lusting after a time when cars were so so so much more than just cars… and before getting to the most incredible dinner at Cassanova in Carmel ~ when parking on Ocean Ave, we ended up right next to these windows! And as hungry as i was, simply had to stop and take pics! Adorable window display celebrating “Concours on the Avenue” in Carmel with kids’ outfits made of maps! Very well done, and quite the contrast to what you’d find actually IN the store… and of the all the windows we wandered past, it was certainly the most interesting. Others simply added ferrari posters to their jewelry displays and such, whereas these guys went all out! Take a look at the details on the next page ~ the pockets, the shoes, so cute ~ and so much attention to the details!

Nothing quite like a big box showing up covered in “Change starts with your underwear” stickers. In 2009, we first wrote about PACT’s undies for a cause, well two years later, PACT, founded by entrepreneurs, Jason Kibbey & Jeff Denby, and designed by Yves Behar’s Fuseproject, has expanded their line of cause driven thongs and briefs to now include tees and tanks! Their twitter describes them as “Beautifully designed and responsibly made men’s and women’s underwear supporting powerful social and environmental causes.” They were kind enough to send over a big box of their latest goodies. From their fun, colorful line of designer undies, they have added V-neck Tees and Tank tops for women and V-neck tees and Crew-neck tees for men in slight variation of their smooth cotton/elastane blend. The design and packaging details are as much a part of the PACT experience as the goods ~ for web orders, the bookmark like labels give you the story and info on the related cause that is supported, and they are each individually wrapped in biodegradable plastic bags. Also, have to love their playful photography of the ideal loungey life ~ home office attire perhaps? Take a peek at the new collection freshly unboxed on the next page!
