Ococoa- 11.19.08

choc1.jpg Oacoca ~ remember the recent .org post #16193? It came across my email and totally had me craving chocolate when i posted it that night ~ and a box came today, so to follow up, you have to see how cute this “indulgence worthy of the guilt” really is… and i liked the packaging, and insulated giant silver ziploc with reusable icepack inside… So check out pics of these deliciously decadent upgrades on the usual peanut butter cup…

Sent over was the Butter Cup Collection that had one of each of their signature flavors… “Classic Peanut Butter, Pistachio Date, Sesame Fig, Hazelnut Chocolate, Almond Cherry, Cashew Apricot, Marzipan Truffle, Macadamia Guava, and Sunflower Honey.” My favorites (in order of awesomness) - Marzipan Truffle, Sunflower Honey (i didn’t expect it!), Hazelnut Chocolate, Cashew Apricot…

Stop. Everything about those chocolates are amazing. The font, the packaging, the display…the way you sliced the chocolate. I’m cravin’ them. Torture.

I absolutly love love love the packaging and logo. the candy is just a lil extra something to the awesome packaging.

For designer, chocolate packaging would be one of the most interesting project to work on. However, I found that most gourmet chocolate packaging are scared to be inventive and most of them feels the same. I wonder what would happen if we take chocolate packaging out of its comfort zone. just a thought.

With the economy the way it is now, I could surely use some fancy peanut butter cups…the pistachio date looks very interesting…I love all things pistachio (I have 3 pistachio trees), so pistachio/chocolate/date sounds very delicious.
What did you think of it? I noticed it wasnt one of the ones you especially liked….was it the date? because it couldnt have been the pistachio, they are like gold dipped in diamonds, they are perfect!
