Porsche Design Edition 3 Cayenne- 03.25.09

de31.jpg Mmmm Porsche Design Editions ~ I’ve had a soft spot for these since the first Design Edition 1 Cayman in 2007 ~ those matte black stripes on black, those elegant details…

“The special edition „Cayenne Porsche Design Edition 3” is based on the Cayenne GTS with 4.8-litre V8 engine. The exterior eye-catcher of the special edition is a metallic lava gray lacquering, design stripes on the sides and on the engine hood and even the standard 21-inch Sport Plus have an elegant metallic grey finish. For the interior design the designers choose an elegant as well as sportive combination of black leather and red contrast stitching, which continue on the dashboard and on the doorbrushes. Each model has a badge on the glove compartment.”

Gorgeous! Check out more details on the next page ~ as well as a peek at the matching watch and luggage collection… and the previous two design editions!

The lightweight titanium case with a 42 mm diameter and the metal strap of the P’6612 Automatic Chronograph both have a DLC (“Diamond Like Carbon”) finish. This finishing process originates from the coating technology used for racing engines and lends the titanium watch case its characteristic vehicle colour. The exclusively designed dial also borrows distinctive stylistic elements from the Cayenne interior.”

“The four-piece luggage set „Cayenne Porsche Design Edition 3” consists of three Trolleys of different size and a practical brief case. All pieces, except for the biggest, the 62-litre trolley, are suitable as airplane hand baggage. Red contrast stitching on the exterior, as well as red inner stitching on the front reflect the interior design of the cayenne.”

This thing is badass!

A friend of mine has the Porsche Design Edition One Cayman. It’s lovely, but he refuses to open the suitcase of Porsche Design items—believes they will aid the resale value of his car if he keeps them pristine!

The wheels dont go well with it IMO.
They are too sporty and aggressive for the Cayenne’s shape which is very not aggressive. They seem like thoughtless aftermarket rims that some kid would put on his first car. I think they could have used a native porsche wheel but had it be smoked with the polished lip. Does the label on the side of it peel off? i almost would want something a little more subtle. like the one on the Cayman.

Design stripes and metallic lava grey lacquering? All they’ve done is put go faster stripes on it and a rather cheap looking plaque on the dashboard. Must try harder I’m afraid…

Repasted just for Ray: “The exterior eye-catcher of the special edition is a metallic lava gray lacquering, design stripes on the sides and on the engine hood and even the standard 21-inch Sport Plus have an elegant metallic grey finish. For the interior design the designers choose an elegant as well as sportive combination of black leather and red contrast stitching, which continue on the dashboard and on the doorbrushes. I know I’m not the only one who doesn’t see a significant change in aesthetics on this one.
