The geekiest/nerdiest I know is to say you had “Gödel’s lunch” to imply you haven’t eaten anything yet.

Kurt Gödel is probably the most important mathematician of the 20th century. From Wikipedia:

“In later life, Gödel suffered periods of mental instability and illness. He had an obsessive fear of being poisoned; he would only eat food his wife, Adele, prepared for him. Late in 1977, Adele was hospitalized for six months and could not make Gödel’s food anymore. In her absence, he refused to eat, eventually starving himself to death. He weighed 65 pounds (approximately 30 kg) when he died. His death certificate reported that he died of “malnutrition and inanition caused by personality disturbance” in Princeton Hospital on January 14, 1978.”

----- Juan 05.12.10 10:11

I once invented a recipe for Raktajino (Captain Benjamin Sisko’s favorite Klingon Coffee Drink from Deep Space 9) it was a twice-brewed pot of coffee (that is to say, coffee, brewed with coffee instead of water) with a number of intense spices (like ginger, chili, allspice and clove) with a spicy frothed wasabi cream on top.

Oh!

I made this Really good cheese cake the other month by making two layers of each chocolate and vanilla cheese, then you cut concentric circles from the layers and sort of… intercalate them so that they are alternating within the layer and throughout the layers, horizontally and vertically. So, when you stack them, ice it and cut it. It is a Chess board!

You have to make sure the cakes are really well set before you cut and stack. If not you might end up with a gooey mess. Chill it well.

Checkmate cheesecake. A la Mode.

A la Moi.
