Made in Korea at Pulse- 05.13.14
Here’s the latest from London-based editor and resident zoologist, Justine Aw!
Our highlight from Pulse this year was the “Made in Korea” stand showcasing a number of designers respresnted by NoTag that had lots of playful items including fold-your-own paper toys, a dog-shaped bookstand and more. Check it out on the next page!
We loved the dog shaped Mori Book Rest from Studio ALB, which holds your reading material and tucks away neatly on the shelf.
There was also a colorful tiny paper menagerie in the form of Zoo in My hand from IKSK Design. The book with coloured pages contains the forms of various animals, who can be cut from the book’s pages and assembled to create your own menagerie.
For those taking on a more challenging paper assembly task, there were lots of models, including new designs from Papero. As Londoners, we were of course drawn to the stunning model of Tower Bridge (which can be opened up to allow ships through!) and Double Decker Bus (the number 38 to Victoria, a real London bus route!). However, it’s hard not to marvel at their other vehicles too with so many independently moveable parts!
