Inspiration: Venice Architecture Biennale- 09.10.12
There was SO much to see at the Venice Biennale ~ as usual, so much running around and so many details to take in… so beyond the features we’ve shared with you thus far (wire bending robots, Israeli Aircraft Carrier Shop, architectural model projection mapping, Russian QR code madness, amazing, colorful model in the Hong Kong space, Kipnis’ Field Of Dreams, the recycled wine bottle roof, and the incredible hydroponic floating plant system!) there have been tons of pictures left… so on the next page you can see a burst of the random inspiration encountered while exploring it all!
Inside of an installation at the Nordic Pavilion…with proximity sensors and screens on all sides in the box, you turn around to control the street view of a busy intersection.

The Japanese Pavilion was full of highly detailed models and beautiful wood displays.

Outside of the Canadian Pavilion was a landscape of wood from Canada that extended to the interior as well.

The Little Sun by Olafur Eliasson we shared with you at the Tate greeted us at the entrance of the main pavilion.
The Venice Pavilion had a pop up garden inside!

The Louis Vuitton Venice Pavilion had 3d printed architecture models hanging by a few wires (with a weight at the bottom suspended) that cast shadows on the floor…great effect!

The Swiss Pavilion had an amazing photograph wrapping the entire main room.
Its like we printed out all the architecture photos from notcot and put them on a light wall…

The Finnish Pavilion is so simple, but so beautiful. This is a full scale structural prototype of the system used in the model next to it.

The library was AMAZING… and even though the magazines on the walls were just wallpaper/stickers… the center table had YEARS and years of Domus, Casa Bella, and Architecture and Design bound in the center to flip through.
The ads were amazing ~ the history, incredible. I could have sat and read them all for hours!
