TIME OUT! ahhhh, grade school flashbacks. Found this little gem on Craigslist, and its cracking me up. So cute… love the caption
What a great chair. Very cute. And the best part it works… Asking $20.00 OBO.
So i suppose i was on a time out from posting due to massive computer moving/server moving/ me moving/ furniture carrying/ outlet installing/ painting and blech fume inhaling… but i think i’m back!
I’m craving shoes. Sorry boys, it’s just that time of month? day? year? anyhow i’m in a girly mood as of late. And i’m kind of falling for these shoes. They are in this months Lucky with brown ties in them, can’t explain the draw.
Anyhow for the more graphic/visual oriented folks of either sex… the Georgina Goodman Flagship “award winning” site is full of eye-candy for your summer senses, and a new take on how to sell/display a shoe digitally. Pretty, playful pieces, real art.
As for these ROO’s, check out these and more here.
OOOH. Everyone has their little life rituals. Mine happen to be painting my nails every which color when stressed. I think the drying forces you to be calm and sit still. Meditative. Or is it the fumes?
Anyhow, Wink Beauty created this adorable combination of Vintage Inspired Matchbox sized nail polish and nail file duo. Too perfect for purse sized emergencies… unexpected stress… or the sudden need for color. 14$
$1.99 Elephant of happiness
This elephant has nice curves. Somedays the world gets to you, and the tiniest little thing can somehow put a smile on your face… wandered around Normal Heights and Hillcrest today in San Diego, stumbled upon Importers Outlet at 4247 Park Blvd. Filled with a pretty decent and well priced selection of goods from Southeast Asia, and a few rather bizarre objects like fuzzy plastic dayglo jesus/mary/buddhas… but great finds from pottery and incense to large furniture pieces. For perspective the little guy is about 5” head to butt.
thrifty ice cream dishes
I visited the Salvation Army Thrift Store in South San Francisco today and found this cute set of ice cream dishes. Awww. I sort of miss Action Thrift Store down in San Diego. They have a ton of miscellaneous junk there. I was looking for some old bad/good/bad framed artwork, but struck out yet again today. If anybody reading this is from the Bay Area and knows of a really great thrift store besides Thrift Town in the Mission in SF and the Salvation Army stores, please let me know!
Fingerprint - Portable HD
80gigs for 200$ I’ve been on the market for a new portable ext hd, and prices have been coming down nicely… always love the small ones, and La Cie’s new SAFE drive is not only small physically and large in capacity, but it also has fingerprint protection for your data. Very tempting. Dimensions : 5.43 x 3.15 x 0.98 in / 138 x 80 x 25 mm. Weight : 200g. See more here, it’s shipping in July.
Night before last, checked out the Donnie Darko Director’s Cut midnight showing. WOW. everytime i see that movie it gets my gears turning, and somewhat freaks me out at the same time. But the most interesting visualization within it is those clear gelatinous fluid paths that he begins to see. The ones that lead to the next place/thing a person does? Doesn’t ring a bell? Go watch it? I cant find a picture of it online right now.
Anyhow these gorgeous glass pieces reminded me of that today. Also from Karin’s.
These glass pieces by Fredrika Linder have a wonderful weight and are about 30 cm tall, inspired by tulips and elephant trunks. Fredrika works as a designer at Lindhammars glass works in Småland and she was recently cover girl for swedish design magazine FORM.
I find the most captivating characteristic of blown glass to be its ability to seem so fluid yet so fixed.
On bunnies… Found this one on Karin’s Too cute for words, absolutely gorgeous piece, kind of picks at your brain, and it’s so fluidly enticing. The image needed to be shared! Made of molded glass… Hannal Jungstrom.
5$ goes a long way.
Wow its been a while, but here’s a taste of what you’ve missed. Things have been crazy, spent all day yesterday installing electrical outlets, touch sensitive multimodal light switches, fire alarm, door deadbolts, and loads more… internet not exactly set up at the new place yet… hence the posting delay. But it doesn’t mean that art stopped evolving, or the amusement with no internet was any less…
Check out this new stool i got (shot at my hfriend’s apt, he got one too… and using jermacide as our very very tired and willing model… and othello the cute bunny too)… so just when you figure everything is pretty costly today, i find this stool/bench/coffee table/hat? at ikea for $4.99! and the boxes got built into a modern rabbitat for the bunnies to explore. Best few bucks i’ve spent in a long time. =)
hey everyone, sorry posting is pretty behind this week, moving apartments and a bunch of stuff is all over, and internet connection, and maddness…. will be back on it really soon! thanks, notcot.
Mazda 110S L10A Brochure
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Supercar!! Tadanori Yokoo delivered this most beautiful example of what auto brochures could be in 1968 to Mazda for their 110S (aka Cosmo).
Imagine the pricing chart — PSYCHEDELIC WONDERLAND PCKG: +$299.99
Remember when you have a billion links… and then you finally revisit some old sites and find they’ve grown and evolved into so much more? PixelGirlPresents was always a great icon resource… and i just dicovered, a funky consignment store as well for great handmades!
So above we have Voodoo Toaster’s Maki Lip Gloss Set [adorably edible like?]… old school cassette tape earings [funky gift for the playful rocker within?]… and just too cute not to post super mini sushi necklace.
And just in, apparently Voodoo Toaster is a friend of one of our new contributors hfriend! So more coming from him soon. The internet. It’s a small (big) world out there.
“Enronic attempts to take the first steps toward such an exploratory data environment for e-mail corpora, using the Enron e-mail corpus as a motivating data set.”
Being excavated and exiled from corporaworld, it’s interesting to see it examined so scientifically. It all seems so, useless. The data is attractive though, from a distance. And the capability to download the entire SQL database of Enron emails, whoa.
Babel on… If you recall, not that long ago i posted about the imagery in the new Hitchiker’s Guide flick. Well Ektopia found these great images from Ron Lord in the original film. Not much to say, other than check out more below the jump. Fun eyecandy.
