Raving Rabbids 2

tdfrabbids2.jpg
There is little that is more amusing than the official Raving Rabbids videos… the first round was amazing with Rabbid Facts… and this time there is the Around the World campaign… so far with Bunnies at Tour de France, and Sumo wrestling! Check out the videos below, as well as the main trailer. Can’t wait till Raving Rabbids 2 finally comes out.

The Fine Cheese Co Crackers

crackersmain.jpg
I can admit it - as much as i love fine cheeses and crackers, packaging still sways my purchasing… luckily this time it paid off. Came across these Fine Cheese Company Crackers at Faletti’s which are imported from Bath, and the boxes have gorgeous imagery and typography. Above are the Sea Salt and Olive Oil (absolutely delicious to munch on plain even) and the Rosemary Crackers. Below i also have pictures of the natural and charcoal crackers with simpler illustration and typography on the box that is worth taking a look at. I also found the Charcoal Crackers visually interesting, being black they look really nice in contrast with white cheeses.

NotCouture: StandardStyle

standardstylediscount2.jpgNOTE: TYPO IN THE IMAGE - its a two day, it was July 30-31! Standard Style is one of those sites I came across a few years ago when I had a renewed interest in denim. I was searching for Paper Denim & Cloth jeans, and was happy to find that this site offered a lot of other stuff I could see myself wearing too, like the much-loved 3.1 Phillip Lim, SEE by Chloe, and of course Marc by Marc Jacobs. I love the selection of brands for both girls and guys. The folks at Standard Style are nice enough to offer a special discount to NOTCOT readers to celebrate the launch of NotCouture this week! The 25% off discount code: notcot25 is valid starting on July 30th at midnight Mountain Time, and will run through Tuesday, July 31st Midnight. Happy shopping!

Not sure where to start? How about check out some NotCouture Standard Style picks below?

Furnitosis

furnitosis.jpg
Furnitosis [fur-ni-toh-sis] “A condition born from ill-fitting, unsightly office furniture. Symptoms include curvature of the spine hunching, fatigue, dementia, disillusionment, headache, shame, sagging and unplanned guttural noises.”

Ewww. Good thing this so called furnitosis is so easy to cure. Bad posture from a not so ergonomic chair has never sounded quite so bad to me before, but these images over at Steelcase certainly make their painfully exaggerated point. See their solutions for these cases below. Thank goodness my Think which i reviewed earlier keeps me from having that crazy twisty neck!

Portfolio Infographics

ceopaygraphics.jpg
Still fixating on Portfolio - just got lost in their multimedia section… and the bloomberg redesign was previously featured on .org, but i hadn’t had time to fully explore Portfolio then. Loving their infographics like the interactive one above on Salary Comparisons where you can drag the arrow to see how the ratio has grown over the years. They even have E.Q. quizzes to see if you have what it takes to be a CEO - much like those you’d find in cosmo, only better typography and graphics. They even have gorgeous quizes to see whether you can spot the knock off, or pick which tie is cheaper (screenshot below).

Glaser Designs

glasermain.jpg
I think i may be getting hooked on a new magazine, and i haven’t even see the print version yet… Conde Nast’s Portfolio (so far it reminds me a bit content-wise of Monocle) - and i just discovered Glaser Designs in their article.

Glaser Designs produces leather and fabric bags which are handmade in their San Francisco Studio (yes, they are on my list of things to look into further next week) - as you can see from above the craftsmanship and design look incredible, and clean and classic. What REALLY drew me to these bags were the Insiders line of various organizational components… Laptop sleeve, adjustable modular holsters, wine organizers! Even folder holders, mesh organizers, and suitors that fit (see more images below). These components fit into their many bags, from the gorgeous leather duffel i’m craving above, to their more serious briefcases (see image below). And if you have specific requirements, they even do custom sizes - so you can have the exact combination you desire.

Skeleton Keys

skeletonkeys.jpg
Friday craving - glow in the dark white skull key cap. Richard from Fresh Arrival just reminded me about the great site of Fred and rebrowsing, i love this image of the skull key cap, and they’d be amusing as random gifts (for some reason i see having more than one of these on one keychain being too many).

Stila Acapulco

stilaalcu.jpg
I think i have a soft spot for makeup and alcohol/bottled water, because they tend to become about 85% about the packaging for me often. And today’s random mesmerizing inspiration is this new eye shadow trio from Stila. Simple bronze packaging, and a gorgeous palette of three mexican inspired hues perfect for summer. The pressed patterns i couldn’t take my eyes off, and ended up buying it to scan it (and i’m loving the colors). This one is Acapulco - there are also trios inspired by Mazatlan and Vallarta (see them all at Sephora). Look at more images below… it reminds me of the Tantric Buddhist Mandala sand paintings a bit…

i|m active

imhairmain.jpg
i|m active: There are hair things and there are hair things… and there are hair things in great packaging… foil ziplocs! AND great labeling as well as an ActiveHold Technology TOUCH window! And seriously, how can you resist that. Well beyond the great packaging… this line of active hair accessories actually has a whole new kind of grip on the outside! It weaves two types of rubber strands on the surface of the bands for extra grip, as well as having no metal clasp (the connector actually looks a lot like heatshrink). I picked up the elastics, as well as the head wraps which look like giant elastics (instead of their other wide flat headbands) - in addition to their extra tension claw clip/elastic hybrid (more images below!). And i’m impressed, my buns and ponytails aren’t going anywhere as much as i shake my head… nor are my bangs that tend to escape! What else is in the line? Barrettes and award winning shoelaces! all with the same grippy technology.

Now for the unexpected part - i|m active is by the makers of Industrie which produces high end salon tools… which are a business unit of Newell Rubbermaid. Yes, THAT rubbermaid… of tupperware, etc.

Puma Urban Mobility Site

pumaumsite.jpg
Puma Urban Mobility - Ok, i’ve shown you the stuff… and gushed hard about the design and wood integration in the products already… but thats nothing compared to how i’m feeling about the icons and imagery on the site that goes with. I will let the screenshots speak for themselves, but i’m all over this one for: 1. the icons… esp when animated. *swoon* 2. the maps 3. the drop shadowed speech bubbles… oh and also the colors and flatness… as well as the old school “fit the pieces in” packing puzzles!

Sidenote: on Puma iconography… remember these great inspirational ones on the door during construction?

Puma Urban Mobility

pumaurbanmobility.jpg
Puma’s Urban Mobility line… there’s been much talk of the Urban Mobility Bike (folds up… i’ve included the collaborative short NSFW film PUMA and Ryan McGinley teamed up with the Serpentine Gallery on at the end of the post) as well as the limited edition Urban Mobility Bag (top left, whit bag with the wood bottom)… but i’ve heard little about the whole collection, OR the incredible website they’ve made around it (which is SO awesome, i need a separate post for it, coming next). So here are the products i’m in awe of currently… more or less everything integrating wood into the products: The roller is just incredibly sleek and gorgeous! The totes with the contrast of the wood paneling are just breath taking… and that wallet! OH, and the belt? It’s airport friendly! No metal parts, so you can keep your pants up while you go through security! And that black sleeve for laptop accessories was just too pretty not to share as well. Close ups below of products, as well as

TODA + OXO Corn Stripper

oxocorn.jpg
While checking out Sub-Studio’s latest post for us below on TODA… i couldn’t help but notice this incredible Corn Stripper they have designed for Oxo! It actually strips the kernels off the cob and into a container that even helps you measure how much you have… and easy grips to hold on to as well.
