The Buddha Nose i found at Marie Mason (that little apothecary that opened up in Brentwood Country Mart - which by the way, i must note has been remodeled into the most counterintuitive space known to man - and this is the store which has managed to gain much press in all things l’ve encountered as of late) - and it amuses me that they call it Budda Nose - it brings strange images to mind - and nice simple packaging.

There are some things you want to have, and then there are things you know you just have to have. It took me about a second to realize that I NEEDED this necklace by Erica Weiner. I purchased it from www.plainmabel.com, but you can also get it directly from the designer. At only $35, who could pass it up?
Hello jetlag? Sorry for the delay in posts - just landed over in Singapore for the next 2.5 weeks (will be here till the 6th of Feb)… So i’ll be back on posts later tonight - but just wanted to post a quick message for any idea on things to check out here - or designers to meet up with! More to come…

Ok back to more regularly scheduled content - do you slip when doing the yoga/pilates thing too? Or just like the feel of little nubby rubbery bits? (they remind me of these “tic tac toe” brand socks my mom used to have me wear that kept me from wiping out all over the slick hardwood floors when i was a wee one) Anyhow, these brilliantly beautiful Yogitoes apply the concept of those childhood socks to towels/mats/etc while you attempt to stretch and hold poses in yoga/pilates/etc. Found them at Fred Segal the other day. They’d make a great gift… *hint hint*
Ok, NOTCOT has taken over my brain at the moment, and between the moving/unpacking i’ve taken to taking pics of the random things around i have been meaning to share. So here’s the VW GTI fuzzy black poster i spoke of in the last post. It is so sweet, i LOVE that rabbit image, not to mention its a great shade of red with the flocked black poster… Couldn’t resist and took a few extras incase anyone else couldn’t live without one too. But you must admit - its a fun one!
LA Auto Show was the last two weekends - nothing rocked my world so hard i wanted to post it. But there were some great displays as always, especially by Porsche and VW… there is an incredible flocked black and red poster for the GTI that VW was giving out i will have to get a good shot of to share with you soon. But for now, here’s my favorite pic of the entrance wall of Porsche.
Wandering Borders the other day, and came across this great gift tin for 99 cents - it had a holder inside of it for a gift card (so the width of that is perhaps 4” for the tin)… but the holder pops out, and it makes for a great little mailer/gift package for small items, and just looks nice on the shelf. The quote on the front is Ralph Waldo Emerson’s “Some books leave us free, and some books make us free.”

So CES Google goodies - they had these great simple black t-shirts with the graphic on the bottom wrapping around your left side (the OOOOO’s covering love handles)… and some fun magnets as well. [Oh yea and palm had some palm and treo magnets as well - that’s my working white board up on its side thats holding silly magnets between moves at the moment]
This pen came in the Wall Street Journal a few days ago - and i simply had to shoot and share it. Its a rather heavy metal leg in fact… where you turn that tip to make the pen appear… refillable cartridges and everything. My mom wants to know whether we can ask for a left leg as well to complete the set… or whether they were biased to the right leg for extra space. Nicely packed too, apparently bubble wrapped and sealed into its own section in the bottom of the plastic bag the WSJ is delivered in every morning.

So that’s what a cat’s tongue looks like up close, eh? It freaked me out a bit. So naturally, i had to post it. Also apparently people are attacking my server. Stop! Stop spamming it so badly, just leave it be. And to readers, sorry it’s been slow… we’re working on it. So be patient, or help fix! Thanks. And i will never feel the same when a cat licks me again.
So in addition to that notorious Imation USB Bracelet (seriously, would you wear that?) they also launched this USB Lock thing - also cutesy… “forming a handy attachment clip for briefcases, backpacks, or beltloops”. And the tagline “MICRO on the outside! GIGA on the inside!” - it comes in 2 and 4 gig models… But as much as i gripe, it caught my eye in the CES 2006 Showcase, and its aesthetically interesting, i am just disappointed there isn’t more funtion to its form.
AdBrite has an interesting system set up that you have probably see on other sites as well - and in my curious state tonight i signed up to see how the system and interface worked… It allows me to set prices and have people post ads on the site and they manage the cost and timing of display. Also a nice feature is the ability to create promo offers… so for readers i set up “cotnot” as a passcode you can enter at the bottom of this link if you want to try out an ad on Notcot for a week! Or if there is interest for shorter ones/longer ones/etc just drop me an email, i’m dying for excuses to mess with the system more and see what we can do with it.
The rings and pendants are dual sided portals to escape through, and who doesn’t need an escape or reminder nearby that is this sleek and subtle? These pieces have tiny printed microfilm of predesigned text and images, or you can submit your own, and put behind mini lenses - the meaning of Dingdrin is “thing inside” in german. I love these, now if only i could decide what to put inside… would love to do custom ones for all the important people in my life… the pendant is very very appealing to me right now.

Mom sent me this one - (and apparently it was given out at some evening event at CES? so sad i missed that) - but its such a great use of your PCMCIA hole if you don’t have a card reader or something else stuffed up in there… finally dumbing down technology as the perfect hiding place. Or as mom says, the perfect spot to hide some cash so you never forget some money for lunch at the last minute! Or um whatever small secret things you have, in a spot few are bound to go snooping. StashCards. and only $9.99!

So I admit i was a non believer that i would ever stick things to my phone. Also i have not been able to find a suitable case/cover for the treo 650 that protects the screen and makes it less slippery, while not making it hugely bulky. Being female, i tend to carry my treo in my purse, so smaller the better, but it will definitely come into contact with keys/makeup/leatherman/etc. Anyhow, at CES the Palm booth lady gave me
eGrips which in my boredom i stuck on to the treo to see what it was like (it did say that you could remove it with no goo left behind)… and then i proceeded to see if it really did magically keep from slipping on slanted surfaces. So while it did not stick to the matte painted wall, it did stick nicely to the guitar! Although, it’s not actually sticking, more or a "not sliding off".
